Safeguarding

Honilands Primary School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils. We expect every member of our community, including staff and volunteers, to uphold this commitment to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all.

Our school follows a comprehensive set of safeguarding policies and procedures, which can be reviewed on our Policies and Procedures page. This includes our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and Internet Safety Policy. At times, we may need to collaborate with external agencies to address any concerns about a pupil's well-being. In such instances, we prioritise communication with parents/carers about our concerns, unless we believe that doing so may compromise the child’s safety.

All staff and volunteers in our school are DBS checked and all staff, by law, have a duty of care to report any concerns they might have regarding a child to a Designated Safeguarding Leader (DSL).

Photography and Videography Guidelines

We recognise the joy that photographs and videos of school events bring to parents and carers, and we encourage capturing these moments responsibly. As part of our commitment to safeguarding, we maintain strict guidelines on the use of these images. Any images or videos taken at school events by parents, carers, or relatives are intended solely for private family enjoyment. They must not be shared publicly or posted online, including on social media platforms, as this may potentially place a child at risk.

If, for personal reasons, a parent or carer prefers that their child not be photographed or recorded, we ask that they inform the school office of these preferences so we can make the necessary accommodations.
