This was our first inspection under the revised OFSTED framework, and we are thrilled with the positive feedback Honilands Primary School received. The inspectors praised our school's inclusive, happy, and safe environment, where children are encouraged to thrive, embodying our values of determination, kindness, and responsibility.
The report recognized our commitment to ensuring every child becomes a confident reader and our dedication to fostering a love of reading from the early years onward. They highlighted our ambitious and thoughtfully designed curriculum across all subjects, high-quality support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and the consistently calm and purposeful learning atmosphere throughout the school. Inspectors noted our pupils' outstanding behaviour and positive attitudes, who actively contribute to our school and the wider community.
We are immensely proud of our Honilands community—children, staff, parents, and governors—who make our school a wonderful place to learn and grow. Leadership and management, the quality of education, behaviour, and personal development were all rated as ‘good,’ reflecting our collective dedication to progress and excellence.
The inspectors provided one key area for growth: in a few subjects, some pupils could better retain previously learned concepts and vocabulary. We have already started implementing strategies to help our pupils deepen their long-term understanding and knowledge retention across all subjects.
