Our Curriculum

Our curriculum will teach children about mental well-being, internet safety and harm, physical health and fitness, healthy eating, drugs, alcohol and tobacco, health and prevention, basic first aid and the changing adolescent body. These subjects are designed to equip our children with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their own wellbeing, health and relationships as well as preparing them for a successful adult life. We teach part of this through PSHE lessons, basing our lessons on a wonderful programme called JIGSAW.

Designed as a whole-school approach, Jigsaw PSHE / Health and Well-being provides a detailed and comprehensive scheme of learning for all our children. Jigsaw is a unique, spiral, progressive and effective scheme of work, aiming to prepare our young people for life, helping them really know and value who they are and understand how they relate to other people in this ever-changing world (see below).
